Jayson Tymko
ACAMP Chairman, J2 Capital Corp, President

Jayson is an active entrepreneur and co-founder of J2 Capital Corp.

In 2000, National Post named him one of Canada’s top 25 “Up and Comers” for his work at Menex Technologies, a company he founded to build artificial intelligence for gas well production and monitoring services.

In the mid-1990s, he co-founded Galahad & Associates Inc. to automate business processes and designs to build internet-enabled computer networks.

Jayson serves as director/partner of Pink Army, (which supports open source personal drug development for breast cancer), Ideal Contract Services, and Nickel Financial (to help First Nations bands create a united front to lobby the provincial government for new gaming licenses).

Jim Seethram
ACAMP Vice-Chairman, Founder of Orissa Software Inc.

Jim Seethram co-founded Orissa Software Inc. in 2000. He is also CEO of Paribus Corporation, a custom software development company he started in 1991 with a focus on software for the oil patch. With 25 years in the software industry, he has a keen understanding of business processes and leads Orissa’s product development and market initiatives. Prior to Paribus and Orissa, Jim worked as a management consultant for LGS Group (now owned by IBM), formerly one of Canada’s top three largest information systems consultancies.

Jim also taught financial accounting and information systems in post-secondary institutions.

He holds a bachelor’s in commerce from the University of Alberta and an MBA from McGill University.

Dr Sergio Kapusta
ACAMP Director, Former Chief Scientist for Royal Dutch Shell and General Manager of Physics & Materials Research at Shell International E&P Inc.

Dr. Kapusta worked with Shell for 30 years, holding senior positions in research, engineering and operations in all major segments of the oil and gas business. He has led the use of nanotechnology-based techniques into the oilfield.

He has been consultant for corrosion, risk assessment and materials selection for clients such as BP, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, PDVSA, Petrobras, PetroChina, CNOOC (China), and Repsol-YPF.

He is the author of more than 70 articles and presentations in electrochemistry, corrosion control, materials, and asset integrity.

He is a fellow of NACE, the International Corrosion Society. In 2004, Dr. Kapusta was distinguished with the prestigious Technical Accomplishment Award by NACE International. He is a member of SPE and of AIChE, and has held chair roles in various committees of these professional organizations.

Dr. Kapusta received his bachelor’s in chemical engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, and his Ph.D. and MBA from Rice University.

Amolak Grewal
ACAMP Director, President & CEO, HumanEdge Global

Amolak Grewal is the founder and CEO of HumanEdge Global, a national executive and professional search firm.  Previously he served as the COO for ATB Financial, where he was responsible for the retail banking, corporate banking as well as investment management businesses.  Prior to that he held senior positions at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as well as the Government of Alberta and QRD Systems.  Amolak has 25+ years of experience in executing growth, turnaround, acquisition and divestiture mandates in technology, insurance and banking industries.

Amolak sits on the board at the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, and on the advisory committee at the University of Alberta’s SME Governance Program.

He holds a bachelor’s in science (honours) from the University of Calgary, and has completed the executive programs at Queen’s University and the University of California at Los Angeles.

Chris Hartshorn
ACAMP Director

Chris was recently the Chief Technology Officer at Callaghan Innovation at University of Canterbury, New Zealand.  Previously, he served as the Chief Research Officer at Lux Research, Inc. and also served as its Vice President of Research. He led Lux Research’s teams of industry analysts and consultants in providing on-going emerging technology intelligence and strategic advice for the world’s leading technology companies.

He is a sought-after speaker, delivering keynote speeches focused on emerging technology opportunities and challenges, and counter-intuitive insights in executive panels and discussions. He draws on extensive experience advising clients on a range of emerging technology areas including green buildings, water efficiency, energy storage, biofuels, advanced materials and photovoltaics and waste. Having previously directed Lux Research’s consulting practice, he has lead numerous corporate, investor and start-up projects, providing navigation and recommendations on the emerging technologies and adoption landscapes critical to future business growth.

Prior to joining Lux Research, Mr. Hartshorn worked for General Electric, managing global technology programs as well as in product development within its materials businesses. Earlier, he held positions as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina and as Senior Scientist contracted to the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory’s Center for Biomolecular Science and Engineering.

He is the author of over 25 scientific articles and reviews, and co-inventor of numerous patents in the field of chemical and materials development. Mr. Hartshorn received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Canterbury.

Ken Brizel
ACAMP Director & CEO

Ken has spent more than 20 years managing operations with multinational high-tech organizations in North America, Europe and Asia.

Prior to ACAMP, he was CEO of LightPath Technologies in the United States. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President for Strategy and Business Development for Oplink Communications; Director of Strategic Marketing and the Digital Signal Processor business unit for AT&T/Lucent Microelectronics; and held senior management positions at GE/RCA and the startup Star Semiconductor.

Ken holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering with concentration in solid state physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He won the David Sarnoff Award Gold Medallion for Outstanding Technical Achievement at RCA for building the QMOS product line.

Ken is the driving force for ACAMP’s vision, strategy, people and reputation.
